About Us

This website is operated by Clansman Saddlery (“we”, “our”, “us”).
By placing an order with us, booking a fitting, or using our website, you agree to the terms and conditions set out below. Please read them carefully before making any purchase or appointment.

1. Products and Services

We offer three main types of goods and services:

  • Custom-made saddlery products – made to your individual measurements, design, or specifications.

  • Stock items – ready-made goods available for immediate purchase.

  • Saddle fitting services – professional on-site or mobile fittings, assessments, and adjustments.

Each category is subject to different terms, explained below.

2. Custom-Made & Bespoke Products

2.1 Design and Specification

Custom-made products are crafted to your specific measurements, requirements, and preferences. Once work has begun, these orders cannot be cancelled or refunded, except where goods are faulty or not as described, in accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

2.2 Approval and Adjustments

Before production begins, we may confirm measurements, materials, and design details. Any requested changes after production has started may incur additional costs or affect delivery times.

2.3 Ownership and Liability

Ownership of all custom-made products remains with Clansman Saddlery until full payment is received. We are not liable for issues arising from incorrect measurements or specifications supplied by the customer.

3. Stock Items

3.1 Availability

All stock items are subject to availability. If an item is unavailable after your order is placed, we will contact you promptly to offer an alternative, refund, or revised delivery date.

3.2 Returns

You have the right to return any stock item within 14 days of receipt, provided it is unused, in its original packaging, and in resalable condition.
Please see our Refund & Returns Policy for full details.

4. Saddle Fitting Services

4.1 Appointments

Saddle fitting appointments must be booked in advance and confirmed by email, phone, or message.
A fitting charge covers the fitter’s time, travel, and expertise, and is non-refundable once the appointment has taken place.

4.2 Cancellations

If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please give at least 48 hours’ notice. Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice may be charged in full.

4.3 Liability

Every effort is made to ensure that the saddle fitted is suitable at the time of fitting. However, changes in the horse’s condition, shape, or musculature over time may affect fit. We cannot be held responsible for issues arising after fitting due to such changes.

5. Pricing and Payment

All prices are listed in GBP (£) and include VAT where applicable.
Payment must be made in full before any goods are dispatched or before the start of a custom order.
For saddle fittings, payment is due at the time of the appointment unless otherwise agreed.

All payments are made through the Equigate app or in cash.

6. Delivery

Delivery times are estimates only. We make every effort to meet quoted timescales, but delays can occur due to material availability or courier issues.
We are not responsible for delays beyond our reasonable control.

Goods are considered delivered once they reach the address provided at checkout or handover takes place in person.

7. Product Care and Warranty

Our saddlery products are handmade to a high standard.
We recommend following our product care guidance to maintain the quality and longevity of your purchase.
Normal wear and tear, damage from misuse, or failure to follow care instructions are not covered under warranty.

If you believe an item is faulty, please contact us as soon as possible. Faults confirmed as manufacturing defects will be repaired, replaced, or refunded in line with your statutory rights.

8. Limitation of Liability

We take every care to ensure our products and services meet professional standards. However, except where required by law, we will not be liable for:

  • Any indirect or consequential loss, damage, or expense;

  • Injury or harm resulting from the misuse of equipment or failure to follow fitting advice;

  • Issues arising from the horse’s change in shape, condition, or management after the fitting date.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

9. Privacy and Data Protection

We respect your privacy and handle your personal information in accordance with UK data protection law.
Please refer to our Privacy Policy for details on how we collect, use, and store your information.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes arising in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
